The 4th of July Celebration is funded by the Wrangell Chamber of Commerce Royalty Contest which is held in June. Typically 2 to 5 teenagers enter the Wrangell Chamber of Commerce’s Fourth of July Royalty contest. The contestant that sells the most raffle tickets wins. Approximately $38,000 to $43,000 is raised to pay for the Fourth of July activities. All funds raised by the Chamber of Commerce during this event are for prizes and expenses generated by the 4th of July.
The logging show and fireworks will be held on the 4th of July. Other tentative events include "Anything but a boat race", Barb Neyman Toddler Games, Parade, a welcome home picnic, Soap Box derby, and Fun Run. Please keep checking the website as we update the schedule.
Wrangell’s downtown district is closed to
vehicle traffic for the entire day! There are variety fun activities
for people of all
ages. Delicious food and games booths are located throughout down town.
Wrangell’s Fourth of July celebration is the best in Southeast
Alaska!
So fun in fact, it was featured in a 5 page editorial in Good
House Keeping magazine as “North of July”.
This is an excellent time to host a class
or family reunion. Come join the fun!
